Director and head consultant
Jernej is the head of Stritih Sustainable Development Consulting and a leading Slovenian expert in sustainable development with 35 years of experience in the national and international policy contexts.
He has managed various institutions, including the Slovenian Government Office of Climate Change and the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe. He has coordinated several donor and EU-funded technical cooperation projects addressing climate change, nature conservation, institution building and stakeholder engagement.
He is also a trailblazer in the implementation of the Financial Participatory Approach (FPA) in the Caucasus and has conducted FPA capacity building in Ethiopia and Djibouti.
A scout and nature lover, he uses his spare time for kayaking, mountaineering, mountain biking and skiing. He is also a certified white-water kayaking and alpinism instructor.
