The project aims to introduce contractual nature conservation outside of protected areas in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, securing conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity without reducing the income of local rural populations.
The project is implemented by WWF Caucasus Programme Office with financing from BMZ through KfW (Germany).
Jernej has been the lead technical expert in this project since 2015. The key achievement of the project has been the establishment of partnerships with village communities using the Financial Participatory Approach Methodology. In the first phase, 20 long-term conservation agreements were signed, covering 92.000 ha of conservation landscapes.View Project
